These holiday gift ideas make it easy for you to surprise her with something she will absolutely love!
I own everything on this list of Christmas gift ideas for her. And, while it’s not the normal gift list — no clothes, no jewelry and no purses — it does include a variety of items. You’ll find something that really fits her personality!
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Great Books for HER
An relaxing, light read is my go-to when I have a little time to myself. I grab a good book, get comfy on the screen porch and enjoy a light escape from the day to day world. If you have a book lover who likes to escape the everyday for a little while, these might be the best Christmas gifts for her!
SWEET RIGHT HERE
Who doesn’t love a good rom-com, especially one that is NOT Christmas focused? This PG rated rom-com is set on a therapeutic horse ranch, with believable characters who you can’t help but love. They’re quirky and relatable, imperfect and endearing. From start to finish, this book will make you laugh as you cheer for love and healed hearts.
It’s a great little escape from the world of cookie baking, gift wrapping (after you buy here, of course) and kid wrangling.
FINDING DOLLY, and other books by new author, Becki Lee
Becki Lee, a new author in the fun romance and friendship genre, hit the ground running with a tremendous trio of books. Each one is filled with lots of humor, relatable conversations and just enough angst to keep the pages turning. These books would make great holiday gifts for her. I recommend you get all three!
They’re thoroughly enjoyable, and you won’t be embarrassed giving them to your mother-in-law! (That’s a compliment to the author!)
- Finding Dolly — In the first book, Grace’s mother dies and sends her on a mission to “Find Dolly.” Of course, that takes her to Nashville and the home of the great Dolly Parton. On her quest, she falls in love — but will it last? And, she learns a lot, about Dolly and about herself.
- Dating Breena — Book two, set against the backdrop of the country music scene in Nashville, this contemporary romance perfectly blends the fun fake dating trope with a heartwarming love story for a fun little escape from the humdrum of everyday life. Cheer for Breena and Gabriel as you enjoy this easy read.
- Discovering Jillian — Just released, the third book is hilarious and sweet. Not surprisingly, it’s also set in Nashville. Enjoy the twists and turns as Jillian and Jackson cross paths, create trouble and discover…. what?
EMBER MUG
Want to really blow her socks off? The EMBER MUG is my alltime favorite Christmas gift from my husband! This amazing mug uses some secret ninja skills to keep coffee, tea or cocoa at the perfect sipping temperature for at least an hour! You can set different temperatures for different beverages. AND, it really works!
What I love most about the ember mug is how it feels. It’s just like a regular old coffee mug, one you can wrap your hands around with a nice rim. I don’t like travel mugs that taste like plastic and require me to sip through a lid. ICKY!
But this mug? Oh. My. Goodness!
BONUS! It’s on sale for 27% for Black Friday! I’d pay full price for a second one!
Gifts for the Traveler
I love travel, and I find that the right travel gear makes it more relaxing! My new suitcase, which I just got this year, is one of my favorites and I highly recommend it for holiday gifts for her!
True story: One of my friends is a notorious over-packer, and we joke back and forth about her over-packing ways and my make it fit in one bag ways. But, the truth is, I pack a lot in a little space! It comes down to a good carry-on bag, space saving packing cubes and an amazing makeup bag!
Amazing Carry-on with Secure Laptop Pocket
I got this LEVEL8 carry-on bag this summer and tested it out before recommending it! It’s been on three road trips and one flight (checked bag with layover). I absolutely LOVE this bag. First, it’s incredibly spacious. I packed five outfits, including two sweaters, a puffy coat, and two pairs of shoes plus bathroom stuff, for the flight to and from Ohio.
It easily carried everything I needed for a five day work trip this summer, including my computer and charger, all in one bag!
As to features, the LEVEL8 CARRY ON BAG telescoping handle is very smooth and set a little wider than other bags I’ve had, making packing easier. The wheels are super smooth — and durable — tested more than 8,000 times at the factory. At the airport, my husband had fun spinning the bag as he walked along! It’s also got a TSA friendly lock for the bag and for the computer sleeve. I just love the bag!
Compression Packing Cubes for Travel
Compression packing cubes make a whole lot more stuff fit in a whole lot less space! And, for the trip home, it’s easy to sort clothes to wash when you get home. (It’s a sad reality that all good things end with laundry!) And, who doesn’t want to make packing easier for mom? These are great Christmas gift ideas for her if she loves to travel!
I’ve been recommending these compression packing cubes on my travel site for a couple of years, and everyone loves them! My husband even helps me pack now because packing cubes make it easier!
There’s even a shoe bag so that shoes can go in luggage without getting things dirty!
NOTE: At this time, November 2023, you get $5 off these packing cubes with an Amazon instant coupon. They rarely offer it!
Drawstring Makeup Bag
When I got my drawstring makeup bag, and my daughter (age 17) dubbed it the “Hermione Bag.”
If you’re not a Harry Potter fan, you won’t get the reference. But, in Book 7 (I think), Hermione Granger has a purse that carries everything. And as makeup bags go, this one does the same.
I love mine so much, I don’t even unpack it anymore. In the morning, I pull it out of the drawer, open it up, and apply my makeup. When I’m done, I pull the string closed and put the bag back in the drawer.
When traveling, this awesome bag opens flat — great for using in a hotel because my stuff never has to touch the countertop.
And it’s got enough space to store jewelry, nail polish, Q-tips and other bathroom essentials.
I know a teenager who might think this would be a great Christmas gift idea for her!
FUN KITCHEN GIFTS (NO TOASTERS!)
Do you have a happy baker in your family? Then, some great baking tools would make great Christmas gifts for her. Just don’t go the route of the toaster or the electric frying pan!
JOSEPH JOSEPH ROLLING PIN
For cookie makers and pie bakers, the Joseph Joseph Rolling Pin is an absolute game-changer! The guide rings help roll dough to the perfect thickness! Until I got this rolling pin, I really got frustrated with uneven sugar cookies where edges burned. NO MORE!
DIGITAL KITCHEN SCALE
Don’t get confused here! A bathroom scale? BAD IDEA! A kitchen scale, GREAT IDEA for bakers! Baking is a science, and precise weights are way more accurate than measuring cups! Look for a kitchen scale like this one, which can measure in grams and ounces for any recipe. Also, stainless steel is durable and easy to clean.

On my travel blog (yes, I’m crazy enough to manage two websites), I have some great articles for specialty travel. If you’re headed to the beach in the coming year, why not get her a great new beach bag with all the essentials? (TIP: Include a book from the list above so she can relax on vacation!)
And, if you’ll be headed on a cruise next year, our cruise packing list includes the best cruise essentials to make your cruise vacation even more spectacular! It includes beach towel clips, cabin essentials, and other goodies that we take on every cruise.
One last thing before I go, gifts for gardeners! I don’t know about you, but the older I get, the more I find time in the garden to be relaxing and enjoyable. I harvested my first persimmons from my very own persimmon tree this week! I hope to add more to my garden next year, and gardening tools would be awesome under the tree.
I wish you, your family and your friends a very happy holiday season filled with love! And… with the best gifts under the tree!
